The Fire & Feast Butcher’s Festival presented by Crown National was created with this in mind – a showcase of the best meats and how to prepare and present them, inspired by current international trends and proudly presented by Crown National.

The festival gives the public the opportunity to rub shoulders with the “who’s who” in the meat industry, from famous butchers right through to acclaimed foodies. You will be able to learn about the various meat cuts, experience live cooking and pairing demonstrations, learn how to buy the best meat and enjoy a range of other fantastic experiences, perfect for the whole family.

National Butcher’s Challenge presented by Crown National

The National Butcher’s Challenge presented by Crown National provides a platform for butchers from all over the country to compete and showcase their butchery skills and creative uses of beef, lamb and pork.

Entries are limited for this once in a lifetime experience, so watch this space to complete your entry, and see if you will come out top and be South Africa’s National Butcher’s Challenge Champion! What’s more, the winners will represent South Africa at the World Butcher’s Challenge 2018, held in Belfast, Ireland.

The SA Free Flame Championships

The SA Free Flame Championships is a truly South African event that will see teams and individuals compete in four disciplines, including potjie, braai, American style barbeque and shisa nyama. Winners of the various disciplines will be selected to represent South Africa in the World BBQ Championships 2017, due to be held in Ireland.

The Beer and Braai Garden

Come enjoy your favourite brew or experience a few new ones while you listen to special braai and beer themed discussions from world-class braai and brew masters.

Kitchen Theatre

Visitors looking for some kitchen inspiration from experts in the culinary world will find something to satiate their appetite in any of the four kitchen zones set to feature at The Fire & Feast Butchers’ Festival. Leading South African chefs will rotate throughout the four zones daily, bringing with them a unique take on fine cuisine, hearty meals and delicious snacks.

Lamb & Mutton SA Kitchen Theatre

Entering this aromatic kitchen zone, visitors will be treated to a sensory overload of lamb koftas, grilled livers, lamb kidneys, ribs, mutton loin and mutton rump prepared by Citrum Khumalo and Stefano Strafella.

Pork 360 Kitchen Theatre

Frikkadels, pork fillets, pork roast, pork belly, shanks, pork rashers and thai curry are some of the appetizing dishes that will emanate from this kitchen with chefs, Richard Rust, Sizwe Cebekhulu and Kabelo Segone bringing the heat.

The Beef Zone

Beef kebabs, citrus flank steak, rump, bone marrow, pulled beef and the enticing ox heart burger are on the menu in this zone, all expertly created by chefs Raynor Damons and Sasha Zambetti.

Overflowing with ales, lagers, pilsners and draughts all bubbling with unmatched flavour, brew masters will bring these golden delights into the venue, freshly brewed every morning.

Enterprise Breakfast Zone

The Fire & Feast Butchers’ Festival will welcome visitors with a tantalising Breakfast Zone where the unmistakable smell of sizzling bacon and pork sausages will set the mood for this family-friendly event.

Live Entertainment featuring The Gus Brown Band
