The East African region is at a critical turning point in its socioeconomic development. Agriculture is one of the region’s most important sectors, with 80% of the population of the East African Community Partner States living in rural areas and depending on agriculture for their livelihood.
The governments of the region have identified agro processing as the key development area to increase economic growth. This can only be done through industrialisation by building and improving agro processing plants and increasing the production thereof. This will in turn create the need for more modernised machinery, equipment and technology.
Value Added Agriculture Expo East Africa, organised by Reed Exhibitions, is East Africa’s largest conference and exhibition promoting the full value chain in agro processing. Reed Exhibitions is the industry leader and the largest and most successful events company in the world and is reputed for its passion for delivering high-profile, customer-focused events in established and emerging markets.
Value Added Agriculture Expo East Africa creates a business platform for new investors to explore opportunities in the region. Supported by all East African government leaders, the exhibition will increase trade not only for the full value chain in agro processing, but also provide the platform for international businesses to showcase their latest equipment, machinery and technology in value addition production.
The two day conference will create a dialogue amongst East Africa Government policy and decision makers to increase value added agriculture offerings and decrease critical stumbling blocks in the industry. It will also give investors an opportunity to understand the market to expand their businesses. Agro processors will gain more insight on the latest technology to produce high quality products in more cost effective ways.
Value Added Agriculture Expo East Africa will be held from 24-25 May 2017 in Nairobi,Kenya for the entire region.
