Meet The Team

Sian Cullingworth: Portfolio Director

Which of the Decorex SA 2018 trends is your favourite and why? Psychotropical. I loved the botanical trend in 2017, and feel that this is an eccentric extension of that. I love the interesting contrast created by the juxtaposition of the man-made creation and the natural. The psychotropic trend is defined by vibrant palettes; vivid tropical patterns and digitised prints; lush, botanical themes with a heightened, near-synthetic form and motifs with a hallucinogenic quality.

Angela Chatfield: General Manager: Sales

Which of the Decorex SA 2018 trends is your favourite and why? Hygge vs Lagom. I really like how the Danish hygge of cosy serenity subtly meets the Swedish lagom of moderation through an element of simplicity.

Reshnie Naidoo: Senior Sales Coordinator

Hygge and Lagom. This trend definitely speaks to me in terms of the comfort, simplicity and moderation. It’s about creating an environment that encourages mindfulness, productivity and a sense of well-being.

Refreshed Jewel Tones. This trend doesn’t have that matchy-matchy colour scheme and it also brings the room together in a more organic way.

Which of the Decorex SA 2018 trends is your favourite and why? Metal Design Furniture. Mixed Metallics. I just love all things shiny. I love the element of glamour that shimmer brings to décor, be it textiles, art, soft furnishings… even jewellery and make-up. One of my favourite sayings is ‘shiny shiny makes me happy’. What could be a better trend for me than Mixed Metallics!?

Anita Bloom: Creative Director

Hygge vs Lagom. This lifestyle trend is my favourite! Creating spaces to escape the hustle and bustle of our busy daily lives is imperative for me – especially as a creative. I need to escape the noise and retreat into silence and solace in order for the creative juices to flow.

Heather Reid: Senior Creative Co-ordinator

Which of the Decorex SA 2018 trends is your favourite and why?

Digital Print. In my opinion, this trend stands out as ‘larger-than-life’. The Digital Print trend gives off a happy, bold feeling and reminds me to have fun. In a world where there always seems to be hardship and sadness, the trend tends to direct my mind to a happy space, a space I want to reside in.

 Pontsho Mohlohlo: Operations Manager

Which of the Decorex SA 2018 trends is your favourite and why? Room Dividers. My favourite 2018 trend has to be the Room Dividers. I am so in love with incorporating stylish room dividers in various forms – thin-lined or meshed dividers crafted out of metal or wood. It’s a great way to create intimate spaces in open-plan homes and I really like the idea of bringing in some greenery with indoor plants.

Katy Meurs: Services Manager

Which of the Decorex SA 2018 trends is your favourite and why? Elevated Organics. Organics, organics, organics… what more could a girl ask for?! This year’s Elevated Organics trend has to be my favourite. I love the concept of bringing organic and luxurious materials for an outside look and feel. The neutral tones and rough textures help create a sense of calm in this manic world.

Josephine Sekwelenkwe: PA/ Admin Manager

Which of the Decorex SA 2018 trends is your favourite and why? Mixed Metallics. I think mixing metals adds fascination and breadth to a room, because it’s going against the norm.  The Mixed Metallics give a room a layered look, as if the items are special collections from different places over time.
